What do you love about Wesley Church?
I love the freedom that comes with being yourself as we grow deeper in relationship with one another and Christ. At Wesley you can ask questions and take risks without feeling self-conscious or inappropriate because everyone is on a growing edge…and it’s okay not to be okay.
What inspires you?
Watching loving relationships grow and mature between people of all ages, opinions, experience, and uniqueness. Sometimes we forget to name it for what it is, but when there is boundless joy and mutual respect flowing between individuals and groups, that’s the presence of Christ within those who love Him.
What book (besides the Bible) has changed you the most?
That’s a hard question! I love books of all shapes and kinds, but those that have changed me most would have to be: Life Together by Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Servant Leadership by Robert Greenleaf, Mixed Blessings by Barbara Brown Taylor, A Prayer For Owen Meany by John Irving, Original Blessing by Matthew Fox and A Plain Account of Christian Perfection by John Wesley. I should probably stop there before I list my entire library of books, lol! I’m pretty sure that the current books I am reading and the next books will also fall within a favored category too!
If you were a type of food, what type of food would you be and why? (You can’t pick something just because you like it.)
An ice cream sundae —- because who doesn’t like an ice cream sundae? And that there are endless variables to what constitutes a sundae — you can stick with a known favorite or you can experiment and create a sundae adventure!!!
