GROWTHGROUPSWHYGROWTH GROUPSText Box: · Jesus began His earthly ministry by establishing a small group of 12 disciples. His purpose was to invest His life in them, teach them, and send them out to minister to others. (Mark 3:14)
· Christians have met together in small groups since the beginning of the church.  (Acts 2:42-47;20:20)
· Growth Groups are a place where the teachings of the scriptures come alive and people’s lives are changed. This kind of intimacy can rarely happen in the large gathering of the weekend service.

The Purpose of Wesley Church
The purpose of Wesley Church is to reach people with the Good News of Jesus and to make them fully devoted followers of Christ.

The  4 Purposes of Growth Groups are to reach:

  Up:  Loving God
  In: Loving People
  Out:  Sharing God’s Word
  Forward:  Making Disciples

A Growth Group is a welcoming, worshipping group of 4–12  people who meet regularly and also support one another through unscheduled, life-giving interaction. They reach out to a hurting world in service and mentor and release new leaders to serve in new groups so others can Know, Grow, and Go in Christ.

The Vision :
To be a church of small groups because spending more time with less people equals greater impact for the Kingdom of God.

Being a church of small groups means expanding the Kingdom (Life in Christ) one person and one leader at a time.

Wesley understands that Jesus came to the world to “seek and save that which is lost.”

We are committed to living out community with a cause—to reach those who are far from God one relationship at a time — and help them find their way back to Him.

Text Box: Group Quotes
“It was such a wonderful thing when I got into this little group. I just felt so safe and secure. It’s true “agape” love -- no pretense. I’ve learned such new things. You never know what might waken inside of a person .”     Gerry C.
“They really care about me as a person and what is going on in my life. I enjoy getting to know different people that I might not know as well if I wasn’t in a group. I  enjoy getting to hear the God-given wisdom. . .I know I can call them family.”   Mary Jo T.
“My group reminds me that God is listening.”
