Welcome to Wesley Methodist Church

Here’s a breakdown of what we do and what we are about

Bible Studies and Small Groups

Wesley UMC offers a variety of educational opportunities.  Bible study and Adult Sunday School is available most weeks.

Mrs. Carol Steele offers a Bible study on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 beginning in September. A break is scheduled in November and the study reconvenes in March.  The study uses many resources and allows for observation…interpretation—application of Biblical truths.  Carol will welcome you in her class. For details please call the church at (814) 899-3302.

Bill and Nyla Penn offer a traditional Bible study on Wednesday evenings at 6:30. It also meets September-November and March through May.  Currently, Exodus is the book studied. For more information about the study, please call the church at (814) 899-3302.

Sunday School for adults is also offered here at Wesley.  John Walburn teaches one class which is a more traditional class.

The other adult class is team-taught by Jack Brinling, Claire Donch, and Emy Dougan.  It uses more contemporary material. Currently, they are studying

We also offer small groups here at Wesley.  Our small group leaders currently are Al Vogan and  Debbie Radder.

At Wesley children and youth are important and we offer a variety of ministries tailored for them.  We have Babies @Wesley, Kids @Wesley and Youth @Wesley.  These are age-appropriate Sunday morning small group/large group gatherings where all our children and youth learn to become disciples of Jesus! Wednesdays @Wesley is a program designed to help the children in our community meet mid-week for encouragement and even homework helps.  We also know summer is a time when kids need a place to be, so our Summer Lunch Bunch program fills that bill.  Kids gather for a 2-hour program, including lunch. They play games, welcome guests such as the Erie Zoo to learn about nature, etc.  Debbie Speice is our Community and Family coordinator. For information on any or all of these programs, please call her at 814-899-3302.

Keenagers

There is also something for our elder population. Keenagers is a program that welcomes those retired and their spouses.  They gather for a program, an inspirational message led by an area pastor and a delicious lunch prepared by our own Wesley chefs.  It meets the first Thursday of most months, outings are also part of Keenagers.  They too occur monthly and are announced at the monthly meeting.  For more information please call the church office at 814-899-3302.

Caring Ministry

Caring is what we do here at Wesley.  Our Caring Ministry team provides care to those sick, injured, aged and infirmed.  Care is in the form of cards and notes, visits, prayer and phone calls.  If you have a need for the Caring Ministry, please call the church office at 814-899-3302.
